Launched in June 2007, Ambassador Opportunity Fund I, L.P. seeks total return opportunities through a fundamental, bottom up research process focused on the inefficient micro-mid cap financial services sector.

Ambassador applies an opportunistic, value based approach to identify securities under-followed and undervalued by the street. The strategy seeks to take advantage of both total return opportunities and the consolidation that is inherent in the sector. These under the radar opportunities typically include inefficient micro cap community banks and thrifts, small-mid cap value opportunities, ground floor de novo banks, and special situation turnarounds. Ambassador has ongoing dialogue and interaction with the bank and thrifts’ Management and Boards to mitigate downside risk and can actively participate in management of the institutions, when applicable. . In turn-around opportunities the investment committee identifies companies where there is an apparent disconnect between management teams and the investment community. In such cases, Ambassador reserves the right to become active investors and at times will utilize their long term community banking experience to become fully participating members of company management.
