Matthew T. Resch, CFA --- Managing Director

Mr. Matthew T. Resch is Managing Director of Ambassador Financial Group Inc. (AFG).  In this role, he oversees the management and strategic direction of AFG, and provides investment banking and fixed income investment services to banks, insurance companies, and other middle-market institutions.

Prior to co-founding AFG, Mr. Resch had a wide range of experience in the financial services industry.  From January 2005 to September 2006, Mr. Resch was the Vice President of Investments and Investor Relations for Donegal Group Inc., a publicly traded property and casualty insurance company headquartered in Marietta, PA. In this role, he was responsible for managing Donegal’s equity and fixed income investment portfolios. A thorough knowledge of financial markets and security valuation was paramount to fulfilling this task. In addition, Mr. Resch was responsible for communicating with shareholders and both buy and sell side analysts in coordinating Donegal’s relations with the investment community.

From June 1998 to December 2004, Mr. Resch worked for a boutique investment firm located in the Lehigh Valley that provided consulting and investment services to the banking sector. He served as Senior Bank Analyst, working with roughly 25 community banks in five states. He provided value added balance sheet consulting services to executive management teams at each institution, attempting to improve the financial performance of each client. Deposit growth strategies, loan growth strategies, asset liability management, peer group analysis, tax planning, capital planning, etc. were among the services provided. In addition, Mr. Resch transacted fixed income security business on behalf of his clients through the firm’s broker dealer. Other duties Mr. Resch performed during his career with the firm included trading fixed income securities, performing financial statement analysis, and investment portfolio analytics.

Mr. Resch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Kutztown University in 1998. He also earned the distinguished Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute in 2004. Mr. Resch also holds the Series 24, 27, 7 and 63 licenses from the NASD.

On a personal level, Mr. Resch is married to his beautiful wife, Dawn and together they have a son, Cohen, and daughter, Kenzie. Mr. Resch is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
