James R. Gillen --- Managing Director
Mr. James R. Gillen is a Managing Director and Head of Business Development at Ambassador Financial Group, Inc (AFG). Prior to joining AFG, Mr. Gillen was President and Chief Executive Officer at Huntingdon Valley Bank, located in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Mr. Gillen has 25 years of experience serving the banking industry, ranging from regulatory, investment banking, advisory, and executive level banking experience. Over the past ten years, Mr. Gillen has played a significant role in helping other companies expand in the community bank space. His extensive financial services background has enabled him to develop strong rapport with senior management teams around the country, and to work closely with his clients to improve overall performance.
Prior to joining Huntingdon Valley Bank, Mr. Gillen was a Senior Bank Strategist at BancIntelligence.com, Atlanta, GA., an online advisory company focused on improving performance and franchise value. He worked with approximately 95 client banks while at BancIntelligence. Prior to BancIntelligence, Mr. Gillen was a Senior Bank Strategist with a boutique broker-dealer located outside Philadelphia.
Mr. Gillen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia in 1984.
Mr. Gillen and his wife, Joanna, have three children – Brianna, Mallory and Jimmy. On a personal note, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and is an avid hockey and baseball fan.
